Skyhooks fans are in for a bit of a reunion for Skyhooks drummer Freddie Strauks joins Skyhooks guitarist Bob ‘Bongo’ Starkie for the Million Dollar Riff show at the Satellite Lounge in Melbourne this Saturday night.

Freddie, Bongo, and Greg Macainsh were the mainstays of the Skyhooks era. Graeme ‘Shirley’ Strachan joined one year after the band formed, replacing original singer Steve Hill. (Shirl died in 2001, Steve Hill in 2005). Shirl didn’t last until the end of the full first cycle of the band. He left in 1978 and was replaced by Tony Williams who recorded vocals for the band’s final album ‘Hot For The Orient’. Shirl did rejoin for the reunion shows of 1984, 1990 and 1994.

Bongo has kept Skyhooks alive live with his all-Skyhooks Million Dollar Riff shows.
