Murray Burns Tribute Show Tonight In Byron Bay

by Paul Cashmere on April 25, 2012

Australia’s music world will gather tonight in Byron Bay for a fund-raiser for Mi-Sex keyboard player Murray Burns, who suffered a stroke three songs into the bands set at A Day On The Green.

The Buzz For Muzz will feature Brian Cadd, Russell Morris, Glenn Shorrock, Gyan and The Firetree plus a hand-picked “supergroup” with members of The Bootleg family, Cliff Richards band, Dragon, Crossfire and Moving Pictures.

Murray Burns suffered the stroke when the band was performing at the Yarra Valley last month for A Day On The Green. Mi-Sex had only recently reformed with former Noiseworks member Steve Balbi on vocals. (Original singer Steve Gilpin died in a car accident in 1992).

Tickets for tonight’s show are $50 on the door.

Doors open at 7pm for the show at The Buddha Bar/Byron Bay Brewery.
