Cannon Claims He Left Carey

Nick Cannon is reportedly the one who left Mariah Carey, and not vice versa.

The couple are currently embroiled in an increasingly ugly split, with the America’s Got Talent host admitting during an interview last week that he and Mariah had been living apart for months.

New reports indicate Nick is the one who left the singer, and is said to be deeply concerned about the wellbeing of their three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, according to TMZ.

‘He believes the environment around Mariah is toxic and fears for his kids,’ says the outlet, which goes on to claim Nick wants to create a separate environment for their children as a haven from Mariah’s ‘chaotic’ home.

Mariah has meanwhile made no statements, but posted a picture on Instagram of their children.

“She can’t believe [Nick] went and did that,” a source previously told E!. “Not what they had agreed on and not classy. He was not supposed to say a word. She thinks it was extremely childish, impulsive and opportunistic. For her, it was the last straw. She’s done with him now.”

Mariah’s rep confirmed the singer was focusing on her children. While the statement doesn’t confirm any of the reports being circulated, it makes it clear what her priorities are.

‘I am not commenting on Mariah’s personal life, but Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour,’ the statement read.
