Singer songwriter Jesse Winchester died from cancer on April 11 at age 69. In 2009 he was a guest of Elvis Costello’s TV show.

Deni Blues & Roots Festival is on Saturday and Sunday in Deniliquin. It is the second year for the music festival. Artists appearing this weekend include The Doobie Brothers, Boz Scaggs, John Mayer, Dr John and Russell Morris.
