Gregg Allman, Gov’t Mule and Devon Allman will perform Bluesfest sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne next April.

This will be the first time Gregg Allman has ever played in Australia.

Allman and brother Duane founded the Allman Brothers in 1969 with Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks and Jai Johanny Johanson.

Butch’s nephew Derek Trucks is now in the Allman Brothers band and performed at Bluesfest this year with his wife Susan Tedeschi.

Gregg Allman released his solo album ‘Low Country Blues’ in 2011.

Gov’t Mule, lead by the legendary Warren Hayes, will return to Australia for the first time in 14 years for Bluesfest.

Devon Allman, Gregg’s son, will perform his first ever solo shows in Australia. He was here earlier in the year with Royal Southern Brotherhood.

Gregg Allman, Gov’t Mule and Devon Allman dates are:

April 21, Sydney, Enmore Theatre
April 23, Melbourne, Forum Theatre
