James Cotton Blues Band Add Bluesfest Sydney Sideshow

James Cotton, the Grammy Award winning and Blues Hall of Fame inductee, will perform his own show at Sydney’s The Basement during his first Australian visit in April.

James Cotton is known as Mr Superharp. The 78-year old blues legend has nine Blues Music Awards to his name. For 2014, he has been nominated for five more awards.

Bluesfest director Peter Noble is gloating at scoring Cotton for his festival. “Mr Superharp is the BEST Harp player of the Blues around and a true legend of the Blues, it is an honour to be presenting his FIRST EVER Australian tour,” he said.

Cotton has collaborated with Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin’ Wolf, Janis Joplin, Johnny Winter and Muddy Waters. He has also opened for/ sat-in with The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Santana, Steve Miller, Freddie King and BB King.
