Molly’s manager Mark Klemens said today that Ian has come out of sedation and is responding to very basic commands.

Molly is now off the ventilator and recovering from the first of his surgeries since falling off a ladder at his Richmond home 10 days ago,

This week doctors at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne operated on his broken shoulder and ribs to great success.

Klemens said he is not yet in a position to hold a conversation, is a bit sore and uncomfortable but assures Molly’s fans that this is “a great Christmas present for the family”.

Ian Molly Meldrum remains in a serious but stable condition. He will remain in The Alfred while he recovers for some months to come.

Leo Sayer Shares His Thoughts on The Passing of Sly Stone

There really is a riot going on right now, so what a poignant moment it seems to be to lose a hero I never met, yet a man I often imagined as my soul brother. I worked with many of his alumni (including the man who helped invent him, fellow San Fran disk jockey Tom Donahue), and to say they and he inspired me would be a useless understatement.
