Folk legend Ralph McTell will perform at the Blue Mountains Music Festival of Folk and Blues in March.

McTell was a busker when Transatlantic Records signed him to a record deal. His first album ‘Eight Frames A Second’ was arranged by David Bowie producer Tony Visconti and produced by Elton John producer Gus Dudgeon.

His second album ‘Spiral Staircase’ featured his first big hit ‘Streets of London’. McTell recorded the song in one take.

In 2017 McTell re-recorded the song with Annie Lennox.

The Blue Mountains Music Festival of Folk Roots and Blues is on March 15, 16 and 17 in Katoomba.

Other acts include Katie Noonan performing with cartoonist Michael Leunig, The Others featuring Kram, Paul Grabowsky and James Morrison, Perch Creek, Vika and Linda Bull, the Grigoryan Brothers, Adam Page, Marcia Howard Trio, The Northern Folk, the Coconut Kids and 19-Twenty.

As well Wallis Bird and The Daoiri Farrell Trio joined by Luka Blum, Tomato Tomato, Melisande, Les Chauffeurs à Pied, Basia Bulat, Front Country, The Naked Waiters, Afenginn and Topp Twins from New Zealand round out the first announcement.
