PledgeMusic is a fan funded music platform that teams with partners to find a market for their music projects.

The company has been around since 2009 and has helped fund projects for Mia Dyson, Ash Grunwald, All India Radio and Underground Lovers.

“We’re beyond thrilled to have Scot on board as our Aust/NZ GM,” says Jayce Varden, PledgeMusic founding partner and COO. “His experience and reputation attracted us, and will attract the artist’s and business opportunities that continue to legitimize PledgeMusic as the world’s leading platform for artists and labels wanting to engage directly with their fans. While project based crowd funding is a core element of PledgeMusic, Scot’s role also will also include label integrations, fulfillment solutions, and key artist development.”

Scot Crawford equally understands the new business models independent artists need to adapt to survive. “Within an ever evolving industry both artists, labels and producers are looking for new ways to reach their fans and engage with target markets. Pledge is committed to contributing to the health of music related projects within our region and it’s really exciting to be involved in further developing the brand within Australia and NZ,” he said.

One of the recent PledgeMusic projects was the ‘Fighting Funds’ project with SLAM.

Live Music Ticket Prices Reshape Global Concert Industry As Australia Faces ‘FOMO Economy’

by Paul Cashmere The cost of seeing live music has transformed dramatically over the past four decades, with arena and stadium concert ticket prices now outpacing inflation at a rate few other entertainment sectors can match. In the mid-1980s, a major concert ticket typically cost between $12 and $15. In 2026, premium tickets for the world's biggest tours regularly exceed $500, while VIP packages can stretch beyond $1,000. The shift has fundamentally changed not only the economics of touring, but also the behaviour of audiences in Australia, North America and Europe.
