Word of Bruce Springsteen’s March 2013 Australian tour is currently louder than the summer cicadas.

After a whisper to Noise11 last week of Sydney Bruce dates for March 18, 19 and 21 we can add in a tweet from Paul Stewart suggesting Easter dates for Victoria at Hanging Rock are also being planned.

Bruce Springsteen kicked off his World Tour in Austin, Texas this year at the new Austin City Limits theatre on Willie Nelson Boulevard in Texas and Noise11 was there.

That show featured special guests Jimmy Cliff, Eric Burdon, Tom Morello, The Low Anthem and Arcade Fire.

Bruce also played the previous night at the Austin Music Awards and performed the Rolling Stones Beast of Burden with Garland Jeffreys and Alejandro Escovedo.

Australia will be the centre of the music industry this March thanks to bookend festivals from AJ Maddah from Soundwave and Peter Noble from Bluesfest.

With AJ’s Metallica headlined festival line-up and Peter’s Plant/Simon/Santana combo, in between you have the Gudinski Neil Young & Crazy Horse and (maybe Springsteen) tours and the Michael Chugg Bluesfest sideshows and Deni Blues and Roots Festival and West Coast festivals with Robert Plant and Paul Simon, let alone their yet-to-be announced sideshows.

Bluesfest Melbourne Day Two: Eric Gales, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram and Buddy Guy Steal The Day

Bluesfest Melbourne Day Two was a rollercoaster ride. There was so much great music packed into one day that it was impossible to see it all. I expected and received absolute stunning performances from blues legend Buddy Guy and Americana royalty Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle but it’s the least expected that makes you walk away wanting more.
